Over thirty years of feeding people right

Dulan's on Crenshaw started with a family, a closed restaurant space, and a deep conviction that great food and genuine care for people are the same thing. More than thirty years later, that conviction still shows up in every plate.

It started with Orange Julius

In 1975, Greg Dulan went to work alongside his parents at their Orange Julius franchise — his first lesson in feeding people right. That calling deepened at Aunt Kizzy's Back Porch, where he discovered Southern soul food and launched a catering service across Los Angeles.

In 1992, Greg and his then wife Brenda opened on Crenshaw Boulevard and built something the neighborhood had been waiting for. These tables have fed Rosa Parks, Magic Johnson, Queen Latifah, and Richard Pryor — alongside regulars who've been coming in every week since day one.

More than a meal

When wildfires devastated Altadena, Dulan's sent out 30,000 meals to residents in need. Greg has also hosted the Boy Scout Pancake Breakfast for twenty straight years and built a hiring practice that gives formerly incarcerated men, women, and single mothers a real first opportunity.

A $2 million bet on Crenshaw

In January 2024, Greg self-financed a complete renovation of the original space — two new kitchens, a first-class dining room — because he believed this historic Crenshaw corridor deserved the best. It's the same soul, in a room that finally matches it.

Adolf Dulan's legacy

Greg credits his father Adolf with everything — the work ethic, the hospitality, the belief that how you feed someone says something about how much you value them. Every plate out of this kitchen carries that forward.
